March News (So-Far) Round-Up

There’s been a plethora of news in the Halloween world that I’ve (sadly) been neglecting to post, so here’s the round-up for what’s been announced so far!

  • On March 12, Digital Spy posted their interview with Andi Matichak, where she referred to the upcoming Halloween Kills as “wonderfully chaotic”. You can read the full interview here.
  • Also on March 12, Rob Zombie’s newest album was released! It’s available for purchase at your favourite retailers, and is currently on all major streaming services.
  • March 13 saw the release of Malcolm McDowell’s newest movie, Blood on the Crown. It’s currently available to rent via Amazon, and was filmed in Malta. On March 18, he also posted a Tweet celebrating the nine year anniversary of when he received his star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame.
  • On March 14, Trick or Treat Studios revealed their Halloween accessories pack on their Twitter page by saying, Here is our first look The Halloween (1978) Accessory Pack! The set will retail for $89.99 and includes Green Coveralls, Ghost Sheet head and glasses, 6 new hands, phone, Judith Myers Tombstone and a light-up jacko’lantern. Be on the look out for more details in the coming month.
  • On March 16, Season of the Witch‘s Brad Schacte (“Little Buddy”) celebrated his 51st birthday!
  • On March 17, Danielle Harris appeared on the John Bartolo Show! The hour long interview can be viewed on YouTube, and will soon be added to the video vault for posterity.
  • On March 17, Caroline Williams – who had a cameo on Rob Zombie’s Halloween II as one of the nurses during the opening dream sequence – watched Leprechaun 3 and did a live tweet of it. You can view all of the Tweets on her Twitter page.

Kyle Richards: ‘Halloween Kills’ “One of the Best of All Time”

According to the Halloween franchise scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis, fans will go crazy over Kyle Richards‘ return as Lindsey Wallace in director David Gordon Green’s Halloween Kills. But what does Richards herself think of the film and her characters return? When asked what to expect from Halloween Kills by TMI.buzz (see below for the full video), Richards gave a short but sweet answer:

“One of the best of all time.”

The film also stars Nancy Stephens as Nurse Marion Chambers, Charles Cyphers as Leigh Brackett, Anthony Michael Hall as the adult Tommy Doyle (previously played by Brian Andrews in Halloween, and Paul Rudd in The Curse of Michael Myers), Robert Longstreet as the adult Lonnie Elam.

Halloween Kills will bring the blood, guts and gore to theaters on October 15th, 2021.

Total Film Releases Exclusive ‘Halloween Kills’ Still

Total Film has released an exclusive interview with David Gordon Green, as well as a still of Michael Myers from Halloween Kills!

Halloween Kills promises to bring back Michael Myers – and we should all be worried. “It’s about the creation of fear,” director David Gordon Green says of the Halloween sequel, which will not only bring back Myers and Jamie Lee Curtis’ Laurie but also other characters the Shape terrorised in the 1978 original.

“It’s one thing to be afraid of the Bogey Man,” he continues, “to have someone who might be in the closet, under the bed, creeping around your house… But we wanted to explore next was confusion, misinformation, and paranoia. What happens when fear goes viral? You can’t just stick your head under the covers any more.”

Green also spoke about what to expect from Halloween Kills, telling Total Film the sequel will be less personal than its predecessor, but much more action-packed as it takes place immediately after the last movie.

“When we made the last one we wanted to find a way for someone who’s never seen the original to get up to speed with the story,” he says. “But this one gets right to the action. It’s very aggressive. It’s more efficient. We wanted it to be an explosive middle before things get streamlined and personal again.”

Body Count Page Now Live

I’ve spent the last two days going through the films, taking different captures of the deaths and bodies, tracking down applicable photos when needed and then editing them all, but I’m pleased to say the body count page is now live! It’ll be updated with the 2018 film and photos of the alternate & deleted deaths sometime this evening or tomorrow morning, but the first ten films are there otherwise.

Ryan Turek, a producer on Halloween Kills as part of the creative team on Blumhouse, confirmed via his Twitter that there is, in fact, going to be a novelization of Halloween Kills, continuing with the novelization that was also released for Halloween in 2018.

David Gordon Green Offers Updates on Halloween Kills & Halloween Ends

During Saturday’s Halloween Tweet-a-Thon, David Gordon Green offered some updates on the upcoming Halloween Kills when asked by some fans. They’re currently finalizing the trailer for the film, and he’s putting the polishing touches on the shooting script for 2021’s Halloween Ends. Though the film is scheduled for release this October, they’re working on some contingency plans in case a theatrical release still doesn’t seem possible.
