Goofs

The opening of the film is supposed to continue directly from the ending of Halloween, but Laurie’s shirt has changed between the two films.

The explosive can be seen on the bumper of the van that Coroner Hooks and Gary Scott are driving right before they hit the cow.

The bandage on Laurie’s head during the hospital scenes alternates between being blood soaked and being clean.

Home Video

Halloween II followed its predecessor and was released on home video in two different versions – its theatrical cut (which tended to be much harder to find) and the unrated director’s cut.

UNRATED DIRECTOR’S CUT: BLU-RAY | DVD

Alternate Versions

When Halloween II made its way to home video, an extended version of the film called the Unrated Director’s Cut was released. Running 14 minutes longer, it’s a completely alternate edit of the film that features different character arcs as the result of frequently extended scenes, as well as an entirely different ending.

In addition to the 14 minutes of footage reintegrated into its director’s cut, Halloween II also features over twenty minutes of deleted footage.
