Twitter Watch Party of ‘Halloween’ with Jamie Lee Curtis & David Gordon Green on Saturday, May 16

To entertain and bring audiences together, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has organised weekly watch parties of some of their most iconic films. In order to join, simply follow the hosts on Twitter, buy or rent the weekend’s movie at any retailer, and press play at exactly 1pm PT / 4pm ET / 9pm BST! Follow and use the designated hashtag for each title to participate and discuss with friends and other excited fans.

The exciting part is the first film on their schedule for May is none other than 2018’s Halloween, and it’s with Jamie Lee Curtis and David Gordon Green!

May 16th – Halloween hosted by Blumhouse with Director David Gordon Green, Jamie Lee Curtis and special guests

No one does horror quite like Blumhouse and Michael Myers. Join the production company that specializes in horror as they watch the return of Halloween alongside the film’s director David Gordon Green and special guests including: John Carpenter, Jason Blum, Judy Greer, James Jude Courtney and Nick Castle. Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago. Halloween is presented by Universal Pictures, Miramax, Blumhouse Productions and Trancas International Films. #HalloweenAtHome

Photos of the ‘10.31.78’ VHS Release of Halloween

While putting together the home video history page for the original Halloween, I mentioned that – though outdated by today’s technology and all of the subsequent special features on it – the “10.31.78” 2-tape VHS set of the original Halloween was one of my favourite releases of the film on home media.

Perhaps it’s that it was my first time ever getting something that was marketed as a “limited edition,” or it’s the subtle touch of having the orange VHS tapes, but this has been one of my more prized items in my Halloween collection. In fact, other than a publicity photo of Jamie Lee Curtis that seems to have fallen out of the packaging over the years, my set is in practically mint condition – minus being opened years ago to watch the tapes on occasion.

Take a look at some of photos I’ve taken of the release below. This post will also be linked to the home media page for easy access later on.

Home Video Release History Added for Halloween & Halloween II

There’s just a rather small update for the site today, but one that will give an idea of what’s coming to the rest of the film pages. I’ve created detailed, in depth pages for the home video releases that Halloween and Halloween II have had since their initial release.

Eventually, I’ll be adding some photos of the different releases to the pages, but that’s for later on down the road. Until then, take a look at the pages and let me know what you think.

Two Interviews with Sandy Johnson

Sandy Johnson is best known to us Halloween fans as the original Judith Myers, portraying the iconic opening kill of the horror film. But Sandy herself quickly retired from show business and, for years, went unaware of what a fanbase the films had developed, or even that people had been trying to track her down for convention appearances.

In 2018, Dread Central was the first publication in nearly forty years to interview her, and it came at just the right time for the then-upcoming release of the 2018 revival. More recently, the official Halloween site posted their own exclusive interview with her.

Both interviews are fascinating reads, and I’ve linked both below for those who haven’t seen either of them. Both links will open in a new tab.

You can follow Sandy Johnson on her Instagram page, @unicornsandyj.

Welcome to 45 Lampkin Lane, your newest source for the Halloween films!

Welcome everyone to 45 Lampkin Lane, your newest source for the Halloween films! I’ve been hard at work for the past month getting the site up and running, and I’m glad to finally be able to show my work off to everyone.

Currently, each film page is active, though some of the subpages will be getting added over the weekend. There are videos available to stream, and the gallery is available for browsing. While there are still some updates planned over the next couple of weeks, I hope you all enjoy the content currently uploaded and have fun bonding with other Halloween fans.

Feel free to post in the comments below, interact with us on Twitter, or contact the site.
